主题大意绝望中看到人生的意义，遭遇天使安排自己不曾存在于这个世界上，失去一切然后幡然醒悟要热爱生活。看似不那么成功和顺利、理想化的贝利，精神上是满足的，圣诞节的欢乐太浓烈了。就是那种绝望不够绝望，一路顺利是主基调，从小招人喜欢与一见钟情结婚四个可爱的小朋友很好的社区人际关系，不顺的算是接手老爹公司失去了上学机会、弟弟优秀成绩把它比下去、情敌山姆发家致富没能抓住跟投机会，因这些不顺轻生的男主也太脆弱了。肥老天使也是天使，设想不错，70年前的电影有年代感，会想象那个时代的美国人和中国人的差距当然不包括贵族。
I swear by my eyes! 女主的人设太可爱了，不是富家女，不是大美妞，是个好奇心极大的女诗人！
据说还有很多人在圣诞节这一天重温这部电影，非常适合全家人一起观赏。
