Plot Summary:Approaching their senior years, married couple Maria and Bing Wang emigrated to Vancouver from Hong Kong forty years ago, they living on the working class east side of the city steps away from Hastings Park. Bing has been the family breadwinner, starting with menial jobs after arriving in Canada despite his educated background, eventually being able to open his own small accounting firm in Chinatown where he keeps long hours in working for and schmoozing with clients. Meanwhile, Maria has been housewife and mother, dedicating herself solely to the family. With their daughter Ava now married with her own young family, and Bing being estranged from their son Charlie for ten years, Charlie who Bing will not allow Maria to keep in touch with despite Charlie living on nearby Bowen Island, Maria now feels like her only purpose in life is to take care of Bing. 移民海外的老年女性生存现状一览，是我喜欢的议题。和（类似题材）巴克曼的《清单人生》截然不同的是，本片有着浓重的东方表达，主题还是围绕着女性如何自处、如何对抗男权为自己争取自留地的女性主义内容展开。郑佩佩、马泰的表演让整个故事的可信度升了好几档，相比之下，吴珊卓倒是稍显平常了（最后一场她与父亲的对抗戏除外）。
