Plot Summary:What is real and what is fiction? Faced with writer's block with his novel, Lewis Fielding turns to a film script about a woman finding herself after his wife Elizabeth returns from Baden Baden. She didn't quite find herself there but had a brief encounter in a lift with a German who says he is a poet. Now the German is in England, gets himself invited to tea where he claims he admires Fielding's books. Which one does he like the best? "Tom Jones." Amused at being confused with the other Fielding, the novelist works the German into the plot.

電影的內容是不可能發生的變態行為，男人似乎有精神分裂症，並且刻意將女人妖魔化，導演心態很不可取。

算是罗西的一次自我复制。一个寂寞的女人，一个寻找灵感的小说家，一个趁虚而入的投机者。镜子的经典镜头又一次再现，即便海边从声音到镜头都很美，仍旧拯救不了这几个人之间空洞的关系。
剧情极其无聊，内容极其空洞。但在文化生活不是很发达的年代里，这个片子作为YY素材给人留下深刻印象。2018：我竟然标记过，不过无聊空洞也许是当时不懂，才会下此论断。虽然没有兴趣再看，但之前的评论有些过于残酷。
斯托帕的这个剧本让我想起安格斯威尔逊的一个短篇,不是房客是朋友...中产阶级妇女的百转心事啊.片中出现维斯康帝的小情儿是挺神秘的.
