Plot Summary:Sir Robert Chiltern is a successful Government minister, well-off and with a loving wife. All this is threatened when Mrs Cheveley appears in London with damning evidence of a past misdeed. Sir Robert turns for help to his friend Lord Goring, an apparently idle philanderer and the despair of his father. Goring knows the lady of old, and, for him, takes the whole thing pretty seriously.
Jeremy Brett的高凌是最大亮点！影像化的版本比直接读剧本容易理解。故事的核心概括起来不像“理想丈夫”，反倒是更像“贵在真诚”。
舞台剧的感觉太强了，先看过RE电影版再来看觉得有点无聊，RE版结尾更精彩。然后发现chuck跟Jeremy Brett好像。
这版Mable小姐尤其聪慧可爱，JB是活的戈林子爵，真是一对儿璧人。可惜另两位女性选角有些离题。齐尔敦夫人年纪太大，和原作年轻天真的夫人形象不合。席夫人更是老能当子爵的娘，很难想象这两人定过婚，更不是那个神经质、白肤红唇的美女。最后删掉子爵说服齐夫人让丈夫回归政坛的一段是精华，略可惜。

俏皮话跟jeremy是萌点，但是王尔德的剧情有点太巧合太牵强了.....三星半
舞台感太强，而且扮演Miss Cheveley的演员偏老了些，对于很熟悉故事的人来说，除了王尔德原著里的那些漂亮话之外乏善可称，看在Jeremy Brett的份上加一星~
