Plot Summary:Tony successful fighter pilot during World War II marries into the family of a wealthy oil magnate who also designs airplanes. The movie traces the company's attempt to break the sound barrier, as well as tensions between father and daughter. Lots of footage of early 50s jet aviation in Great Britain as well as shots of the Comet airliner, world's first jet passenger plane.

看的时候会想到宫崎骏的《起风了》，但结局更温柔一些。有对突破音障的科学探索，也有在求知背后付出牺牲却无人理解的高处不胜寒。对多佛的白崖和试飞场麦浪的镜头印象都很深。女主是里恩当时的妻子。

为了突破音障，牺牲了那么多人。科学实验作用于人之后，其残酷一面开始浮现。那个年代的实拍和如此扎实的剧本，很惊讶。安·托德这么有气质的女演员，有关她的信息竟然如此少，残念。
这个飞飞机的剧本本身实在是太无聊了。。。
