Plot Summary:After 400 BC, a new philosophy was born in South east Asia, generated from the ideas of Buddha, a mysterious Prince from India who gained enlightenment while he sat under a large, shapely fig tree. Buddha never claimed to be God or his emissary on earth, only that he was a human being who had found a kind of serenity that others could find, too. This documentary tells the story of his life.

画面和音乐非常精美
做得很好的纪录片。然而就是看到了不想看的人，听到了不想听的句子，对国人来说观影感非常不适...
做我本人，见我本心，知我本是，行我本义。
这个纪录片不适合当下与我相遇，留给以后吧。
1. 动画就像叙事和采访内容本身充满佛性，访谈者里包括佛教的研究者也包括佛教的实践者，有西方人也有东方人，是任何迷失的时候都需要再回过头来看的纪录片；2. 起初看到Buddha生而为男性并抛妻弃子去寻求终极真相的时候多少觉得Buddhism从根源上也有强烈的sexism倾向，但Buddha在Bodhi tree下冥想时看到了自己在前世每一个轮回里的形态：男人、女人、蝴蝶、莲……突然发现纠结Buddha的性别根本是离题的事情，重点在于我们如何和万物联系、如何把自己看作万物、把万物看作自己，如果慈悲（compassion）达到完满的程度，所有的划分都变得无意义；3. You are already the Buddha. Your reality is already the Nirvana.
动画做得非常好，音乐片段很能让人静下心来。对印度文化的诠释有些片面感觉，还有这请的人都是什么贵物 居然还有个越南教授。。有一句话疆独成分明显 减两星
