A documentation of Nabua altered into a field of lightning. The film, in the manner of an old sci-fi or horror movie, shows a set of mini-explosions creating a synchronised series of bolts of lightning like a downpour of bullets from the sky. Plot Summary:A fluorescent tube illuminates an empty playground in the evening. Nearby a flash of light is projected on a makeshift screen. This outdoor movie is a portrait of a village repeatedly struck by lightning. As night falls, the silhouette figures of young men emerge, they are playing with a football raging with fire. They take turns kicking the ball which leaves illuminated trails in the grass. The lightning on the screen flickers amid the fire and the smoke rising from the ground. The game intensifies with each kick that sends the fireball soaring into the air. Finally the teens burn the screen and crowd around it to witness the blazing canvas, behind which is revealed the ghostly white beam of a projector. Phantoms of Nabua is part of the multi-platform Primitive project which focuses on a concept of remembrance and extinction and is set in the northeast of Thailand.

可以看作是关于摄影机的洞穴寓言。最开始有一次闪电亮光的惊蛰,窥见庙宇轮廓,一种佛教观,混沌俗世真知顿悟;随后顿悟被纳入幕布里,被电影的光亮所统摄,电影的真高于顿悟的真;再后,嬉戏的足球火光——比闪电的严肃和力量更随性和低姿态的态度——烧烂幕布,揭露顿悟的“自反”,自以为的严肃深沉灵光惊诧的顿悟,被偶然解构销毁露出骨架即摄影机来。 最后只剩摄影机本身的光亮呈现在眼前,我们观众直面这一自反。关键在于隐现的轮廓,关于真知、终途、答案和可感知的存有,庙宇-知识、踢球者-意志的随机性和宇宙的无限性、摄影机-观看即回归我们自己,层级递增的认识论结构,以迷雾和黑暗的鬼魅感知削弱认识论层面的确定性和清晰度,强观念性的实验片。
