Plot Summary:Jixiang(which means \"lucky\" in Mandarin) village has a child called Min Sheng, because of his talkative, people call him \"Chatterbox.\" His brother Qun Sheng grew up and brought his fiancé, Yan Mai back home, Ma Liu(Yan Mai's Father) forced his daughter to quit the engagement, leads to a terrible chaos in Jixiang Village. Min Sheng could not help telling out the truth causing a disaster. Yan Mai finally married with Qun Sheng. His mother told Ming Sheng not to make any more troubles. However, Min Sheng still did not quit his bad habits, which leads to constant troubles. Finally, the Qun Sheng was killed in a mine accident, Yanmai went back to her parents' home. Min Sheng gradually grew up, and later became the first one in the village entered university.
乡音夹杂着普通话有点出戏，除此之外都挺好的，以前老家的房子都是那样的，后面全部改建了，现在看还能回味一下，也很有意思。
这片子不是一般的好，如同《蓝风筝》一般。镜头语言朴实无华，儿童视角，儿童眼中的农村，很具有时代感和现实意义。儿童的纯真，农村人的朴实、嚼舌根和思维木讷，不敢表达，写人写的极好，结合具有爆发力和呐喊的西北民歌，构建了一个父权当道，父权缺位，但在底层中总会有人呐喊，走出那片荒野的传记。
