Plot Summary:Charming, young Marguerite Amandon lives with her magistrate husband, but she is not happy. Using the name of Miss Clarisse, she takes soldier lovers who she receives in Room Number 11 at the Cheval d'or inn twice a week. For an excuse, she tells her husband that she is doing charity work. One night, her husband is gone for a week to Paris, so she is having a rendez-vous with her lover out of the usual schedule. She arrives late because her aunt came and finds the corpse of a man in her bed. This corpse, was a tourist who suddenly dead, and the inn-keeper planned to remove it discreetly after all the guests have gone to bed. Marguerite's cries wake them all, and she is held for murder. The police inspector let her go, for he has known the truth, but the scandal is discovered. Marguerite leaves the town with her husband who suddenly has got a promotion.
