Plot Summary:From PBS - A world wonder so elusive; it must be mythical... Centuries of digging have turned up nothing. Is it possible everyone has been looking in the wrong place? The Lost Gardens of Babylon follows Dr. Stephanie Dalley as she hunts to find the location of one of the ancient wonders of the world. Until now; no one has been able to find a trace of the spectacular gardens. Dalley will use ancient cuneiform texts and declassified spy satellite images to uncover evidence that supports her theory that the gardens were built 100 years before is commonly believed. Her search takes her to one of the most dangerous places on earth¬-Iraq which was plagued with violence during her trip there but may just be the home of the garden. Along the way; she visits the remains of a vast and complex canal system that may have provided water to the gardens and learns about highly skilled feats of engineering used hundreds of years before it is thought the Romans invented them. It's a modern-day adventure story about the search to find a site thousands of years old.

埃及的纪录片数不胜数，同为文明起源地的两河，可以找到的纪录片屈指可数，埃及的文物古迹大家或多或少都知道一些，伊拉克境内的嘛，只能呵呵了，看了这片，我算是明白了，伊拉克政府不重视，伊拉克人对文物古迹、历史的态度嘛，比起埃及人估计差了好几个档次，片子给人的感觉是外国人比伊拉克人更着急，学者已经到了伊拉克，但是看不到古迹，要让两个本地人冒生命危险去拍摄，然后靠拿回来的影像研究，还有破败不堪、无人保护的古迹，可惜了
看后令人唏嘘不已
相信以古人的智慧能造出犹如天堂般的巴比伦花园。
